As a result of legislation and a duty of care to employees' health, employers have responded to new regulations regarding the effects of passive smoking in the workplace by introducing a range of policies often including the cessation of designated smoking areas within buildings.
In the Financial District of London, numerous determined smokers in the work place irrespective of prevailing weather conditions resort to smoking in the streets and on the pavements surrounding their offices in order to indulge their habit.
